Level Two Youth Project promotes the welfare of young people (age 7-25) living in Felixstowe and surrounding villages, through supportive relationships and positive experiences, designed to enhance their personal and social development.

The grant will help the organisation to adapt their services to support approximately 500 young people within the Felixstowe area.  They are currently working with vulnerable young people and families struggling with isolation and with limited access to networks and resources.  They are also picking up additional need, which includes mentoring and counselling sessions by telephone and delivering school lunches to primary school children (using the Level Two bus).  This is also enabling a “safe distance” chat and check in with those who are vulnerable and ensuring they get the necessary services engaged with them.  They are currently working on how they can support the school system and offer virtual sessions to young people.  The much needed grant will help towards a contribution to the salaries of the Project Manager to deliver free school meals; for the Deputy Project Manager to coordinate the contacting of all service users across all different provisions & the virtual sessions; 1hr extra per week for 7 youth workers; for the minibus to cover costs such as fuel & wear & tear; for additional resources to deliver to families to support with physical & mental health & well-being.

We are so grateful to receive this funding. ‘School Lunch deliveries are going really well!  We have lovely conversations at a distance with all families, the children are looking out of the window & get so excited to see the Level Two bus pull up outside their house.  They love to draw pictures that we then put up in the bus windows.  As well as the lunch parcels, we have added Level Two info and small extra items for the children such as well-being bookmarks and a template of our Level Two heart logo to colour in, and little encouragements for parents too.  This will now continue each week day, even through the school holidays until we resume normal services.
